Hanna Instruments HI 9143 Portable Dissolved Oxygen Meters with Extended Range in Water-Resistant Casing
The HI 9143 is a waterproof oxygen and temperature meter with a reinforced plastic polarographic probe (HI 76407/4) with a 4 m (13â) cable for difficult-to-reach field applications.
The device is self-calibrating, and automatically compensates for temperature (from 0 to 50 degrees C), altitude, and salinity. Altitude and salinity values must be preset before taking dissolved oxygen (DO) measurements, and a table is included in the instruction manual to assist the user in calculating error. The HI 9143 measures temperature and DO in mg/L (ppm) or percent O2 saturation.
The HI 9143 has a range of 0.00 to 45.00 mg/L O2 (EMC deviation + or – 0.3 mg/L) or 0.0 to 300.0% O2 (EMC deviation + or – 3.5% O2) + or – 3.5% O2 at 20 degrees C/68 degrees F. Temperature range is 0.0 to 50.0 degrees C (EMC deviation + or – 0.5 degrees C) + or – 0.5 degrees C.
For applications that require longer probe cables, the HI 76407/10 and HI 76407/20 probes with a 10 m (33′) or 20 m (67′) cable are available (sold separately).

The Oakton 35642-10 dissolved oxygen (DO) DO 6 is a handheld meter that comes with a galvanic DO probe with three-foot cable, and a protective rubber boot with built-in stand. Temperature range -5.0 to 105.0 degrees C, resolution 0.1 degree C, accuracy + or – 0.5 degrees C. DO in mg/L (ppm) range is 0.00 to 20.00mg/L (ppm), resolution 0.01 mg/L (ppm), accuracy + or – 1.5% full scale. DO in % saturation range is 0.0 to 200.0%, resolution 0.1%, accuracy + or – 1.5% full scale. The meterâs dimensions are 5.50(l) x 2.75(w) x 1.25(h) inches, and it weighs 1.0 lb. The probeâs dimensions are 5.0(l) x 0.5 (d) inches. The meter is used with four 1.5 V AAA batteries (not included) for approximately 700 hours of continuous use.

HI 9146 is a water-resistant, microprocessor-based, auto-calibrating Dissolved Oxygen meter with ATC. It has been developed for dissolved oxygen and temperature measurement in water and wastewater as well as other applications such as fish farming. Dissolved oxygen is indicated in hundredths of parts per million (ppm=mg/L) or in % of saturation . The temperature range is indicated in centigrade from 0 to 50°C with 0.1°C resolution. The ppm and the % saturation are both compensated for changes in solubility of oxygen in water and for permeability of the membrane as well as the temperature effect.
